Bit fiddly, but works
kfhdk 31.05.2021
Added 27SEP2021 after around four months of use (stars not modified):

I use the mount for several microphones, starting with my classic Beyerdynamic M260N ribbon microphones (23mm Ø), and lately I use it with the Røde NT1 (50mm Ø), where the low weight really shines.

The Røde NT1 weighs in at 395 gram. The mount, packaged with the microphone, is the Røde SM6, all metal frame, weighing in at a really shocking 552 gram (without “spittoon” - the name I use for a pop filter ;-), and adding alone 140% weight (cast iron?) to the microphone. What is completely unforgivable: the SM6 pop-filter - also contains some metal - weighs 161 gram alone, and mounted farthest from the tripod mount (talk about maximizing momentum). The whole contraption - microphone, shockmount and spitoon - brings 1080 gram - more than a kilo - to the setup, and I have found no gooseneck willing to stay in shape with this (I have tested several - short, medium, large).

Now, this Roadworx shockmount brings only 155 gram (without spitoon) onto the table, and now with the the NT1 mounted only 550 gram - roughly half of the default Røde "system" - in total, I have no problems with keeping the goosenecks “erected”.

It looks like a “clone” of the Røde SMR shock mount (260 gram with pop filter?) and the Rycote USM Universal Studio Mount weighing 154gram (no pop filter). None of these have been tested, but compared to the heavyweight Røde SM6, this Roadworx mount does its job very well indeed and in settings, where the Røde "defaults" are not really reliable (lighter tripods tipping as well as standard desktop "sticks on a plate", when microphone mounted vertically).

Recommended.

Do I have to mention, that this one is significantly cheaper?

Original view (still valid):

Frontmesh mounting rods NOT bendable. Violence doesn’t help, either. Ah, well… tinker, tinker… eh… I’ll come up with a solution; at a future date, when I’ve had time to look in my odd bits and pieces trunk (it’s downright amazing, what can turn up, if I really look. Helps to have a loooot of years on the chassis ;-)

Ufattelig ringe kvalitet.
