Dunlop Flow Standard Picks 2.00 olive

I tested thes when i got my packet from Thomann.
These picks are good, staying fingers well, size and form are good for quick playing and sweeping. When using thinknes like this 2 mm you get good attack also and you get more accurate picking when pick is not too thin.

Highly durable pick with smooth feel
Maunu 12.06.2024
As a long-time Jazz III user, I was looking for larger pick with pointy tip. I have tried Jazz III XL picks earlier, but I felt that their tip was even too pointy: the resistance between the pick and the string was too high.

The Dunlop Flow series has solved this problem: the tip is pointy but the edges are wide. In addition, the edges are smoothly beveled providing smooth gliding across the strings.

The grip texture of the pick is helpful: the pick does not slip. I am able to play with an extremely light grip.

The only downside of the 2.0-mm Dunlop Flow pick is the chirping phenomenon. The hard ultex material produces a "chirping" sound when the edge of the pick touches the string. The chirp is especially pronounced on the unwound treble strings (strings 1-3). On the wound strings (strings 4-6), chirping cannot virtually be heard - so it is not a problem in metal riffing. The way to eliminate the chirp is to play with a fast movements: move the pick fast across the string even when playing at slow tempos. The thinner versions of Dunlop Flow (1.5 mm and thinner) do not exhibit that high degree of chirping.

I can warmly recommend the 2.0-mm Dunlop Flow pick especially to metal rhythm guitarists. Lead players must remember the chirp phenomenon and adjust their picking movements accordingly.

These picks are rock solid, the grip is wondeful, I played with Jazz III for a long time, then switched to JP Jazz picks, I decided to make a switch and give this pick a try because of the nice reviews and wow they delivered!
