Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb

This one's a keeper! Sounds really good and very authentic. Doesn't have much feature wise but more than makes up for it with pure tone. The 'BLONDE' -upgrade is what really woke up the tone, it became very realistic sounding (got rid of that dry high end sizzle) and feeling after that so I highly recommend you do that if you buy one of these. The amp is very, VERY light, quite loud (but NOT loud enough for gigging as you lose the headroom at louder volumes and it gets gritty, too) for it's wattage. Takes pedals very well. I play a Stratocaster with a couple of pedals and this amp just sings. Reverb is natural sounding but gets a bit too much after only 1.5. Tremolo is pretty useless as it's settings start where it's nice and cool but if you turn it up it will just get too fast and I ended up just using a tremolo pedal instead. As I get my overdrive from a pedal (Thorpy's The Dane) anyway I don't miss having another channel but some may. What would be very nice to see in this amp is an output for hooking up to an external cab but that's something I can easily live without. If I didn't know it's solid state I could swear there are tubes cooking in it!! If you're looking for a simple, great sounding amp to use with pedals this could very well be it. And talking about tone.... it's no wonder the Deluxe reverb is perhaps the most recorded amp in studios through history.

The stand by switch stopped working after about a year and a half.
