Good flats for a 5

Very low tension strings with a nice feel when playing and a smooth sound. Have played with these before on a 4 and they were fine, I think a 5 might be a string too far, the tension on the bottom string is so low it does lack definition and is very sensitive to going out of tune, also sounds different to the other 4. However, within the confines of physics I think they are doing well

A great string for the right bass...

I've used Labella black tape wounds for around 15 years, on many different basses - Warwick Thumb, Jazz, Precision, Jack Casady signature, Ritter Cora and on. They feel great under the fingers, enabling playing that wouldn't always work with standard round wounds. They don't cause fret wear and are easy on the fingers. The sound is warm and round, with good bass and a midrange that really cuts through. They may not be the best choice if you favour the bright modern active sound. Surprisingly, they can do a good old-style slap sound (think Larry Graham), but they do best at classic old-school bass sounds. They also last a long, long time.

Great quality string

As you would expect from La Bella strings these are great quality strings for your bass guitar. The nylon is tough and should last, and they're not dull sounding. The E and B strings are tapered at the bridge foe easier fitting.
Very happy with them.

Deep Low End Sound with a Smooth Feel

I love this line of strings, what can I say! :-) They sound good, they feel good, and they look good.

I also like the white version, they have a bit more of a bite to them, but I have not yet tried the 5-string version of the white set.
