Usage: At home for listening music for the past 5 years.
Design:
The first thing that people often notice is the construction of this set of headphones. It being mostly white, combined with thin grey tendrils holding a leather headrest sure is bound to turn some heads, if I were to take them out of the house that is. These headphones, with its open construction and long cable, definitely belongs inside connected to an amp. I personally like the white design with silver details and the leather headband.

Comfort:
When I first got these the bumps on the headband seemed uncomfortable, but after getting used the the headphones (and bumps) they are one of the most comfortable headphones i've ever tried. Sometimes I even forget I have them on.

Build quality:
The build quality is very good overall, the only downside is the clear plastic parts that held the moving headband part to the entire construction. It weakened it so much at first the plastic clamps started to break. Luckily AKG (through amazing customer support from Thomann) repaired my headphones free of charge 2 years after purchasing. The clear plastic has broken again since the repair, but even after a few years the headphone is still comfortable and stable

Audio Quality:
The most important part of a headphone is the performance it delivers and oh boy does this one deliver. The amount of details these headphones produce is amazing and I've been in love with them from day 1.
Recommended genres are: Jazz, Classical, Ambient and possibly pop. These headphones are less amazing on EDM and Rock where these headphones just kind of lack the impact on bass levels, which is tight controlled and deep on the K701's.
After amping the headphones I did not really notice much of a quality increase although it sure was able to play at more comfortable (or louder) levels. I would recommend using an amp on these for sound level, not quality increase.
