Ibanez 70th Anniv. GRG121SP-SV

I always get attracted to anything "limited", "anniversary", "FSR" and alike. Usually I resist the urge, but not this time. Despite the grainy image on the product page, sparkly (I assumed it would be sparkly) silver finish with matching headstock sound to attractive to pass, especially at that price. In addition, YT reviews of this model were quite positive, which made the purchase less chancy.

Well, the finish is exactly as I expected. Gentle sparkle silver, if you like that kind of finishes. Roasted maple looks really nice, too, and fits nicely with this finish. There are few small blemishes in the finish, nothing major. Instrument is well built, I found no problems. As reviews noted, neck is somewhat chunkier, feeling slightly strange in hand, but easy to get used to. Action is a tad on a higher side, but not unplayable (at least I am not too picky about it). No sharp frets, not polished either. If I recall correctly, reviews complained about tuners. I'll probably replace them down the road, but for now they work good enough.Pickups will stay for a while, but I do plan to replace them with set of Fishman pickups later. All in all, I am very happy about this purchase.

Je tiens à exprimer ma profonde satisfaction concernant la guitare que j'ai récemment achetée. La qualité sonore est très bonne, la finition impeccable. A près une petite déconvenue concernant le premier modèle que j'ai reçu Je tiens particulièrement à remercier M. Julien La Forge pour son service après-vente remarquable, toujours prompt et professionnel.

Después de un par de semanas de uso intensivo, puedo decir que la guitarra da mucho más de lo que vale.
Llegó en perfecto estado, la construcción perfecta, el color plateado brillante, muy diferente al resto de guitarras, el mástil fino, los trastes perfectamente alineados con la madera y redondeados. Estaba totalmente afinada, salvo la primera cuerda, luego de esto, aguanta la afinación perfectamente.
En cuanto al sonido, súper versátil. En clean, muy bonito y en crunch, salvo cuando pones el switch a simple del puente, pues lleno y pudiéndole sacar matices.
El único pero es que creo que las cuerdas vienen un poco altas y eso hace que cuando las golpeas con fuerza, trastee un poco, nada grave. Cuando bajas la fuerza, la guitarra muestra todo su potencial sonoro.
Hallelujah, nothing else matters, enter sandman, free falling… todos los estilos bien y sin desentonar.
En definitiva, esta guitarra puede competir con otras de precio mucho más elevado, eso sí, para llegar al sonido de mi Gibson LesPaul Standard, le queda lejos, pero claro, vale diez veces menos.
