Excellent looper with some caveats
Let's get one thing out of the way from the start: I like this pedal a lot. Sound quality is excellent, the amount of internal memory for storing loops is huge and the build quality of the unit is very sturdy. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find a better looper pedal for basic use. However, there are a couple of things I don't really like. The manual is rather poorly written and uninformative. Lots of features are not properly explained, if at all.
One of the things that is not really explained at all, is the extra footswitch that comes with the "deluxe" edition. While it is very nice have a dedicated switch to stop the loop immediately (instead of double tapping on the main unit), it's otherwise a pretty useless. It has two modes, depending whether you hook it up to the main unit via connector A or connector B. In "A" mode, the left button works a tap tempo or kills the loop. The right button is used clear the current memory patch. In "B" mode, the footswitches are used to navigate your recorded loops up/down. This is just silly, because it means that there is no configuration for the extra pedal that would allow you to stop your loops with a single press AND browse previously recorded patches at the same time. While "A" mode is vastly better than "B" mode, it still means that you have to squat down to switch between recorded loops, which kind of defeats the whole point of the extra pedal.
This brings me to my second major complaint, which is that you cannot save loops without completely stopping playback, squatting down and pressing "save" several times on the unit. If you thought you'd be able to loop a verse, save it, switch to the next patch and loop a chorus and then switch back to the first loop, forget this unit. It is simply not possible with this unit.
However, if you're looking for a solid basic looper with great sound quality and sturdy construction, this is a great pedal. With all the wasted potential, it could've been epic.
