My new choice of string
I've been a Rotosound player for most of my musical career. And although I love the sound, the brightness I so appreciate wears off after about a month of playing. I decided to try a brand I'd heard good things about, and see if they could not only deliver the same sound I like, but also retain that tone longer.
D'Addario XL Nickel Balanced Tension strings are world-renowned as "The Player's Choice" amongst bass players of all genres and styles, and I must say, I understand why. Not only do they have the same excellent intonation, clear fundamentals, and unparalleled consistency, so far, the tone hasn't lost any of it's distinct brightness.
I also like the feel of the strings, not too rough and not too slippery, with great finger feel. And the D'addario strings are even a couple of bucks cheaper than the Rotosound strings. It seems I have found my new brand of strings. Do recommend.

My favourite rounds
These are my strings of choise for roundwounds. Altough I find the difference with the "non balanced" set to small to pay the extra few bucks. I tend to change my strings almost every month, so it helps that they sell the normal gauges in sets. If I would leave strings on longer, I would defenitely go for the balanced tension.
PS: I don't change my strings because they die so fast, I just like the 1 week old sound of roundwounds, so every gig needs new strings 1 week in advance.

Strak, dik, en lekker!
Deze set snaren is super voor standaard tunings, hebben een dikke strakke bottom end. Vooral de dikkere E-snaar is fenomenaal!
Maar ook in down- of drop-tunings klinkt deze set zoals hij zou moeten. Een aanrader voor de zwaardere genres.
